THANK YOU! The Governing body of the City of Burlington would like to thank the City staff, The Coffey County Emergency Management team, the numerous business/organizations and volunteers who have supported the efforts to minimize the effects of the 2019 Neosho River flood waters. For the past month Mother nature has provided us with numerous challenges and together we have met them without loss of life or serious injury. We realize that as a community the task is not complete, as additional rain is predicted and cleanup is already begun. Let us however pause for a moment in thought and prayer for not only our friends and neighbors that are suffering but those around us that are reeling from devastating floods and catastrophic tornadoes.
